Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho reveals his Europa League fear ahead of Feyenoord

15 Sep

“We have to make sure we’re not sleeping and losing before the match starts because many times you start losing before the match starts because you don’t find the right motivation and attitude.”

Meanwhile, former Liverpool star Dirk Kuyt has stirred up old hostilities by claiming United are already under “enormous pressure” following the derby defeat at the weekend. And he thinks it is a good time to play United while they are still adjusting to Mourinho’s methods.

Kuyt, 36, spent six seasons with the Merseyside club but is now back in Holland with Feyenoord and would love to repeat that hat-trick he scored against United in a 3-1 Premier League win at Anfield in March 2011.

“They are under enormous pressure because everyone expects them to win the league,” he said. “Everyone can see what it did to the team when they lost to City at the weekend – already there is more pressure on the team.”

Man Utd (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Fosu-Mensah, Smalling, Bailly, Rojo; Schneiderlin, Herrera; Depay, Mata, Martial; Rashford.

Referee: J Manzano (Sp).

Kick-off: 6pm. TV: BT Sport 3.
