Manchester City have a great chance to shock Real Madrid and take the initiative in their Champions League semi-final, according to ex-Blues striker Uwe Rosler.
City host the La Liga giants at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday evening in the first-leg of their last-four clash.
It’s the first time the club have reached this stage of Europe’s premier competition, and Rosler believes Manuel Pellegrini’s side have a great chance of progressing to the San Siro final – where they could face future manager Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich.
“If everyone plays at their top level Manchester City will really have a chance to take a result to the Bernabeu,” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.
“It’s very important to try and win the game, but also to try not to concede a goal.
“The players we have in form, Aguero and De Bruyne, I think we are more than capable of scoring against Real Madrid, and I think that should be our aim.
“Real Madrid are not only about one players, they are a world class team…but if Ronaldo is out that would be a big advantage. I think the team is very capable of winning the game.
“I can’t wait! It’s an exciting day. The sun is shining at the moment in Manchester, everything is made for a very good game.”
