Manchester City fought back from Stephane Sessegnon’s opener to beat West Brom 2-1 thanks to goals from Sergio Aguero and Samir Nasri.
The away side started brightly and they took the lead in the ninth minute when Sessegnon latched on to a loose ball and rifled a shot past Joe Hart, who was beaten at his near post.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side were level just minutes later though when goalscorer Sessegnon tripped Alexsandar Kolorov in the penalty area and Aguero confidently tucked away the spot-kick.
Tony Pulis’ side were unlucky not to have a penalty themselves when Eliaquim Mangala looked to have tripped Craog Gardner, who also tested Hart with a free-kick.
The home side took the lead in the 66th minute when Jesus Navas found Aguero eight yards out, the Argentine’s shot was saved but Samir Nasri tapped home to score his first goal since returning from six months out injured.
Saido Berahino had a couple of chances for the Baggies to level things up but the home side held on to move four points clear of their city rivals United in the race for the top four.
