Man Utd boss Louis van Gaal labels City derby ‘do or die’ amid fears of top four failure

He looks set to fall well short of the third place minimum target he was set by the club’s hierarchy and defeat tomorrow would leave United seven points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City – and in danger of finishing in mid-table.

Van Gaal said: “It is do or die in terms of our top four hopes. If we are seven points behind with only eight matches to play that is a big difference and very hard to recover. It is not only City we have to worry about but also West Ham.
