Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini: We must beat Paris Saint-Germain to become Europe’s best

“Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t see many English teams in the last four of the Champions League in the last five or six years, so there are problems in every domestic league. Trust me.”

Hart, meanwhile, has told City manager Manuel Pellegrini he is fit to play tonight after making a quicker than expected recovery from a calf injury.

The England No 1 limped out of the Manchester derby defeat to United on March 20, and was expected to miss the first leg.

But he has made good progress and wants to play leaving Pellegrini with a decision to make on whether to recall Hart or stick with Willy Caballero, who deputised in the 4-0 win over Bournemouth at the weekend.

A blow for City is that Yaya Toure did not travel with the squad because of a knee injury.

Meanwhile, City defender Martin Demichelis will not contest a FA charge over alleged betting offences. His punishment will be decided by a disciplinary commission.
