Man City boss Guardiola gives Raheem Sterling ‘Pep talk’ at Euro 2016

The new Manchester City boss knows Sterling has been struggling at the Euros and rang him to reassure him he was a huge part of his plans at the Etihad and that he will not be sold.

Starsport understands Guardiola told Sterling ‘he would fight for him’ as long as the winger focused on helping his club become Premier League champions again.

Guardiola believes Sterling has a huge role to play in City’s future and phoned him to tell him before England’s final Euro 2016, Group B clash with Slovakia in St Etienne.

The manager’s decision to back Sterling is a huge boost for England ahead of Monday’s last 16 showdown with Iceland in Nice.
