Riyad Mahrez’s agent has reportedly denied reports suggesting the Leicester City star is set for a move to Arsenal.
Widespread reports on Saturday had claimed Mahrez would be leaving the Premier League champions and making the switch to the Gunners in a deal worth around the £40million mark.
The Algeria international was one of the star performers for the Foxes last season, scoring 17 goals in 37 league appearances, and won the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award.
Leicester have already lost Frenchman N’Golo Kante to Chelsea this summer and another departure would severely hamper their chances of defending the title.
Arsenal have been looking to add more attacking options to their squad ahead of the new season but they may have to consider some different options.
It appears Mahrez will be staying at the King Power Stadium after his agent poured cold water over the rumours that would have seen the 25-year-old become the Gunners’ second most expensive signing.
