Arsenal are reported to be stepping up their interest in Riyad Mahrez, who looks to be seeking a move away from Leicester City.
The Gunners have already failed with one attempt to lure a Foxes star away from the King Power Stadium after Jamie Vardy snubbed a move and signed a new deal.
Arsene Wenger is now hoping for more luck with Mahrez, who was voted the Premier League’s best player last season, and there is a chance he will get him.
Reports are rife that Mahrez is ready to turn down a bumper new deal with Leicester in favour of a move away, and Wenger will be at the front of the queue for his signature.
Leicester are just coming to terms with the fact key midfielder N’Golo Kante has joined Chelsea and will be determined to keep hold of Mahrez.
However, player power often wins the day and if Mahrez pushes for a move, they are unlikely to stand in his way.
