Arsenal need to push through a deal for Jamie Vardy before Euro 2016 begins and are also reported to be in talks regards Riyad Mahrez.
The Gunners have activated a £20million release clause in the Leicester City striker’s contract, but there is still plenty to be done before a deal can be completed.
Arsenal now face a race against time to complete the move and it has been suggested the deal will collapse unless everything is rubberstamped before the European Championships start.
Arsene Wenger is well aware that other clubs could enter the running and the price could get hiked up if Vardy shines in France, while the player himself wants no distractions once the tournament has started.
Vardy wants to complete a move to the Emirates Stadium and the race is now on to get it done.
Meanwhile, reports claim that Vardy could be joined in the Arsenal squad by his Leicester team-mate Mahrez, who was voted Premier League player of the year last season.
It has been suggested that the Gunners have spoken to Leicester about a deal and the Algerian star could also be heading to North London.
