Arsenal are ready to make a move for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette after missing out on a deal to sign Leicester’s Jamie Vardy.
Vardy turned his back on a £20million switch to the Emirates Stadium after penning a bumper new deal with the Foxes, and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has now been forced to look elsewhere.
Lacazette caught the eye after firing home 23 goals for Lyon last season and Wenger is now weighing up a move for the striker, who is also wanted by West Ham United.
Some reports claim the Hammers have already failed with a bid of £42million, and Arsenal will have to pay at least £45million to have any chance of doing a deal.
Lacazette still has three years remaining on his current deal with Lyon, so the French side are under no pressure to sell and will hold out for their full valuation.
Reports claim Atletico Madrid are also interested, so Arsenal would face strong competition.
