Romelu Lukaku’s father wants his son to leave Everton and join either Manchester United or Bayern Munich this summer.
Lukaku has been Everton’s stand-out player this term, scoring 25 goals in 36 appearances for the Blues in all competitions so far.
The Belgium international, who has often suggested he only sees Everton as a stepping stone in his career, continues to be linked with Europe’s top clubs with the likes of United, old club Chelsea, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Bayern among those all watching him closely.
Now, his father Roger has fuelled the speculation further by urging his son to move on – advising him that either a move to the Allianz Arena or Old Trafford are his best two options.
“He’s ready,” Lukaku Sr. told Het Laatste Nieuws?. “I see that there is interest from Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Chelsea and Manchester United.
“I think he must choose Manchester United or Bayern Munich. Manchester United is a team under construction with no real focus.
“Bayern Munich is a machine where he can rotate well. The only condition is if Robert Lewandowski leaves.”
The 22-year-old, who joined Everton in 2014 in a £28m deal from Chelsea after a successful season on loan previously, is likely to be tempted should real interest transpire in the summer although one stumbling block to a potential switch to United could be Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese coach allowed Lukaku to leave Stamford Bridge two years ago and may not want to be reunited with the striker if he takes over as Red Devils boss this summer.
