Louis Van Gaal: This is what Manchester United must improve on next season

“We were 2-1 ahead with 15 minutes to play and then we gave it away, that’s frustrating, now we are dependent on City – but still it is possible. We will fight till the end.”

Van Gaal has no issue with Swansea fielding a weakened team because he did the same at Norwich last weekend when he left out Daley Blind and Marcus Rashford and still won the game.

“No, I don’t have a problem with it because I have also given players a rest and I have won. That is also possible for Swansea. It’s the responsibility of the club and the manager to do what he thinks is right for the team. I can’t judge that.

“My task is the same because we have to play against Bournemouth and I don’t play against Manchester City.”
