Swansea boss Francesco Guidolin says new arrival Fernando Llorente can earn a recall to the Spain side.
Llorente, 31, has been capped 24 times by La Roja but has not featured for his nation since 2013.
The striker endured a tough campaign at Sevilla last year but Guidolin is convinced he can play a key role for the Swans this season.
Llorente said it would be “a very special thing” if he could earn a Spain recall following his move to the Liberty Stadium and Guidolin sees no reason why the frontman cannot add to his caps for his country.
The striker played the full 90 minutes for the Swans in their 1-0 win at Burnley on Saturday and Guidolin was impressed with his performance.
“It was a good game for him, a good 90 minutes,” said Guidolin.
“Now I understood why he played (for Spain) and I hope he can play again with them.”
Llorente was a member of Spain’s World Cup-winning squad in 2010 and their successful Euro 2012 party.
