Liverpool transfer news: Four potential defensive replacements after Mamadou Sakho sent home by Jurgen Klopp
Mamadou Sakho could be on his way out of Liverpool after manager Jurgen Klopp sent him home from the Reds’ preseason tour of the United States.
The Frenchman reportedly infuriated his boss on a number of occasions during the tour, from turning up to the airport late, to showing a poor attitude.
He also interrupted Klopp’s interview with Liverpool’s in-house TV station when the squad were visiting San Francisco’s infamous Alcatraz prison, prompting the former Borussia Dortmund coach to threaten to leave him there.
However, despite laughing off the prank, Klopp’s patience with Sakho appears to have run thin and his return to Merseyside could signal the end of his time with the Reds.
Liverpool have already brought in centre back duo Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan during the transfer window but if Sakho is to follow Martin Skrtel and Kolo Toure out of Anfield then a replacement will be needed.
