The 25-year-old continues to go from strength to strength, matching Roger Hunt’s 1961-62 club record of goals before the New Year, after grabbing both goals in the 2-1 win over the Foxes on Saturday.
The Egypt international has scored 17 in the Premier League this season, one behind Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, but he could be stopped in his tracks after picking up an injury.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp does not know the full extent of the injury as things stand, but he is an early doubt for the clash against the Clarets.
“He wants to score all the time, so that’s good,” Klopp said. “Unfortunately in one sprint I saw him limping afterwards and we tried to change him as soon as possible.
“We’ll check it out, of course it’s not too good.”
It has also been suggested that Salah is in danger of missing the FA Cup clash against Everton, and Klopp will be keeping his fingers crossed for good news.
