Liverpool news: Paul Merson apologises to Mohamed Salah after team of the year snub

Salah, 25, has been in sensational form for the Reds.

Despite only joining in the summer from Roma, the Egyptian forward has scored 20 goals already this season, including 14 in the Premier League.

Pundits have been drooling over the ex-Chelsea ace’s form, but seemingly not Sky Sports man Merson.

When asked to name his best XI of the campaign so far, Salah was omitted in favour of an attacking trident of Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane and Harry Kane.

After coming in for heavy criticism on social media, fellow Sky Sports presenter Max Rushden questioned the former Arsenal star.
