Liverpool fan blasts ‘chicken’ Jordan Henderson despite thumping 5-1 win over Hull

But Henderson – who scored a 30-yard wonder-goal against Chelsea last weekend – has his supporters inside the club, too.

Speaking on a recent edition of the 5times podcast, former vice-captain Jamie Carragher said: “I know Jordan gets a little bit of criticism and a lot of it is about him being captain.

“There’s no one else in the squad now I look at and could take the armband off Jordan Henderson.

“He didn’t have his best season last season, but he wasn’t fully fit.

“I think the year before he did very well, he was one of our best players, and the year before that when we almost won the title, he was very, very important.”
