Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho’s anti-doping hearing scheduled for Thursday

The Liverpool defender is awaiting the outcome of the procedure after he failed a test for a fat-burning substance following a Europa League tie against Manchester United in March.

Sakho, 26, decided to remove himself from selection when the news broke in April on the failed test.

It meant he missed the Reds’ Europa League final defeat by Sevilla as well as ending his hopes of making France’s Euro 2016 squad.

UEFA initially suspended the defender for 30 days but did not extend the ban beyond the end of May as it investigated whether the substance the Frenchman took should be on the banned list.
