Liverpool and Man United fans warned ahead of Anfield clash

Liverpool supporters responded in the return leg at Old Trafford by singing vile songs about the Munich air disaster.

Liverpool were fined £30,000 by UEFA for illicit chanting and a further £13,000 for setting off fireworks, throwing objects and crowd disturbances.

United received a similar punishment for crowd disturbances and the throwing of objects while police had to remove a ‘Murderers’ banner which was hung on a bridge above a motorway used by Liverpool fans on their way to Old Trafford.
