Liverpool 2-2 Tottenham: Reds rated and slated

Liverpool failed to consolidate their position in the Champions League spots after conceding a stoppage-time goal to draw at home to Spurs at Anfield.

The hosts got off to the best possible start when Mohamed Salah latched onto a wayward backpass from Eric Dier and the Egyptian finished low into the corner.

The visitors outplayed Liverpool after the break and found an equaliser through a stunning Victor Wanyama strike ten minutes from time.

Tottenham then won a penalty when Harry Kane was fouled by Loris Karius. The striker stepped up for the spot-kick, but his poor effort was saved by the German.

At the other end, Liverpool thought they had found a winner with a wonderful solo offort from Salah to seemingly give them the three points.

However, Spurs were given another penalty after Vigril van Dijk’s clumsy challenge felled Erik Lamela right at the end. Kane made no mistake the second time to ensure both sides shared the spoils.
