Newcastle came from two goals down to snatch a point against Liverpool following a 2-2 draw at Anfield.
The home side started brightly and took the lead inside two minutes when Daniel Sturridge received the ball with his back to goal, scoring with a superb turn and shot.
Jurgen Klopp’s side doubled their lead after half an hour when Adam Lallana cut inside Paul Dummett and unleashed a left-footed rocket that found the top corner.
The relegation-haunted Magpies came out fighting in the second half and pulled a goal back five minutes in, with Papiss Cisse beating Simon Mignolet to a cross and heading home.
Rafael Benitez’s side then completed the comeback when Andros Townsend found Jack Colback and his first-time shot took a deflection to wrong-foot Mignolet and give the Toon Army some hope.
It was end-to-end stuff after that but neither side could find a winner.
