LISTEN: Steve Parish blasts ‘ridiculous’ £12m Tottenham bid for Wilfried Zaha and says Crystal Palace winger is going nowhere

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has told talkSPORT there is ‘no chance’ of Wilfried Zaha leaving the club this summer.

Speaking on the Sports Bar on Thursday night, Parish confirmed the Eagles had received a bid of £12million from Premier League rivals Tottenham for the winger.

But Parish blasted the offer for the 23-year-old as ‘ridiculous’ and insisted Palace will not sell for ANY price.

“We had a bid from Spurs but £12million – it’s a ridiculous bid. I can’t imagine that they’re really serious,” Parish said.

“There is no chance whatsoever of Wilfried Zaha leaving the club in this transfer window.

“I can absolutely reassure every Palace fan he is an integral part of our plans.

“We are trying to evolve and Wilfried is a massive part of what we want to do.

“We’ve told Spurs that there is really no point bidding for him because he is going nowhere – 100 per cent guaranteed.”

Zaha is understood to have informed Alan Pardew of his desire to make the switch to White Hart Lane, but Parish said: “I decide who leaves and he’s not leaving. He’ll have to get his head around that.

“It is difficult for Wilfried because a big club have come in for him, but we want to finish ahead of these clubs.

“We need to convince Wilfried that he can achieve what he wants here and that conversation will happen once the transfer window is closed.”

Parish is unhappy with the way Spurs have gone about their pursuit of the player, adding: “It’s not right what happens, that players get their heads turned.

“I was told, and I don’t know how true, that their manager thinks he is the next Ronaldo. Well I’d like Ronaldo for £12m.

“The player has been spoken to by people. I don’t think that’s right. They really should speak to the club first and try and get some agreement.

“But it is not going to happen. People need to get their heads around that.”
