Chelsea are reportedly weighing up an offer for Juventus full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner this summer.
Incoming manager Antonio Conte, who will take charge of the Blues after Italy’s Euro 2016 campaign is over, has made strengthening the defence one of his main priorities.
Branislav Ivanovic was deployed at right-back for the former Premier League champions last year but he could be displaced after some poor performances.
Lichtsteiner has previously worked under Conte at Juventus and the pair enjoyed success together, winning the Serie A title three times and the Supercoppa Italiana twice.
Chelsea are said to be willing to offer around 15million euros for the 32-year-old and, with the Old Lady set to sign Barcelona’s Dani Alves, there is a strong chance an offer will be accepted.
Lichtsteiner is currently with Switzerland ahead of Euro 2016 in France, which starts on Friday, and a deal could be completed after the tournament.
