Stoke are set to rival Everton in the summer as they look to lure Leeds youngster Lewis Cook away from Elland Road.
Cook is one of the brightest talents in the Championship and has been regularly linked with a move to the Premier League in the past 12 months.
The 19-year-old, who played for England’s Under-19 side as they beat Georgia 2-1 on Thursday, has emerged as a top target for Potters boss Mark Hughes, who is on the lookout for exciting English talent in the summer.
Cook is under contract at Elland Road until 2017 but has shown no signs of penning new terms so Stoke could take advantage of that fact and attempt to land him for around £5million when the transfer window reopens.
However, Everton are expected to be one of potentially several top-flight clubs also interested.
The Toffees nearly signed Sam Byram from Leeds in the January transfer window before the full-back opted to switch to West Ham.
