Stoke City are reported to have opened talks with Leeds United over a potential deal for talented defender Charlie Taylor.
The 23-year-old was a revelation in the Leeds defence last season and the Championship club now face a battle to keep hold, with a number of Premier League clubs showing an interest.
Manchester United, Liverpool and Sunderland have all been linked but now reports claim Stoke have stolen a march on their rivals by opening talks with Leeds.
The Whites have made an attempt to tie Taylor down to a new deal but it has so far proved unsuccessful and a move away from Elland Road looks unlikely.
Stoke boss Mark Hughes wants stiff competition for regular left-back Erik Pieters next season and Taylor is a player he wants on board.
