League title droughts: Clubs ranked by longest wait to regain the title of English champions

There are just a few days in it, but Liverpool’s wait for a title is now longer than Man United’s 26-year gap.

United were without the top division’s crown between 1967 and 1993 where they won the inaugural Premier League season, while Liverpool’s wait stretches back to 1990.

In addition, it appears Tottenham will be kept waiting for their first title since 1961 (55 years) after they slipped further behind Leicester, who have never won a First Division/Premier League.

Click the arrow above, right, to see other CURRENT title droughts, beginning with Man City’s paltry two-year barren spell.

(We haven’t included Chelsea, as they are still champions at time of writing).
