Sunderland defender Lamine Kone is fit for Wednesday night’s potentially decisive Premier League clash with Everton.
Kone was replaced during the second half of Saturday’s 3-2 victory over Chelsea after suffering a thigh problem, but he has recovered and is expected to be available as the Black Cats attempt to secure the win which will preserve their top-flight status and relegate local rivals Newcastle and fellow strugglers Norwich in the process.
Full-back Billy Jones, who did not make the matchday squad at the weekend because of a hip injury, remains a doubt, but manager Sam Allardyce otherwise
has a full squad from which to select.
Fabio Borini, who scored the equaliser against Chelsea in the crucial 3-2 win on Saturday, has called on the club’s fans to raise the volume and roar the Black Cats to victory over Everton.
He said: “We need the atmosphere to be exactly the same on Wednesday, if not even more. We need the 12th man like the fans were on Saturday.
“It would be really nice to have it done before the final day.”
