Everton boss Ronald Koeman is reportedly set to raid old club Southampton as he looks to sign right-back Cuco Martina.
Koeman has apparently targeted the Curacao international defender, who he signed when at St Mary’s from FC Twente a year ago.
The Dutchman needs an experienced defender to compete with Seamus Coleman at Goodison Park after Everton released Tony Hibbert earlier this summer.
Martina, 26, finished the season strongly after breaking into the Southampton line-up on a regular basis at Christmas and scored a memorable goal in Saints’ 4-0 Boxing Day win over Arsenal.
Koeman brought Maarten Stekelenburg to Goodison Park earlier this month, having signed his fellow Dutchman on loan for the Saints a year ago, with the goalkeeper the only summer arrival so far since the Dutchman’s appointment.
