The forward missed Tuesday’s EFL Cup defeat by Norwich with a toe injury but manager Ronald Koeman is optimistic he will be ready for the trip to the south coast.

Koeman is expected to revert back to his first-choice XI after making six changes to the team that beat Middlesbrough last weekend, giving the likes of Enner Valencia, Gerard Deulofeu, Tom Cleverley and Aaron Lennon a chance to impress against the Canaries.

Darron Gibson is out after groin surgery which is likely to sideline him for the next month while James McCarthy, Muhamed Besic and Tyias Browning are all still unavailable.
