Everton are hoping to land Leicester’s Steve Walsh as their director of football but will turn to Jordi Cruyff if they fail.
New Goodison chief Ronald Koeman is hoping to recreate the recruitment structure he had in place during his time at Southampton.
The Everton boss has targeted Walsh as his first choice following his dealings with Leicester as they went on to win the Premier League last season.
Walsh has been credited with discovering the likes of N’Golo Kante and Riyad Mahrez but could opt to stay with the Foxes, having only penned a new deal in his director of football role six weeks ago.
Reports claim that should Koeman fail to tempt Walsh away from the King Power Stadium, he will turn his attention to Cruyff.
The former Manchester United midfielder is currently working as director of football with Israeli outfit Maccabi Tel Aviv.
