Everton are ready to launch a £6million bid for Portugal’s Euro 2016 winning goalkeeper Rui Patricio, according to reports.
The Toffees saw veteran stopper Tim Howard depart the club at the end of last season and new boss Ronald Koeman is keen to strengthen between the sticks.
Joel Robles, who ended last term as the number one, remains his first choice, while Dutchman Maarten Stekelenburg has arrived from Southampton.
However, the Dutchman is understood to be chasing one more goalkeeper to provide competition and Patricio is claimed to be high on his list.
The 28-year-old played every game for Portugal as they went on to triumph at Euro 2016 and was voted as the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
Reports claim that the Premier League side will offer £6million to try and tempt him away from Sporting Lisbon where he has spent his entire career.
