Ronald Koeman has implemented a new style since replacing Roberto Martinez as Everton boss and he feels it is paying dividends.
The Dutchman sets his side up to press the opposition and he feels it is what the Goodison Park faithful want to see.
Koeman has also brought in a great emphasis on defence since taking charge at Everton but feels they are capable of adapting and altering their game, although he feels pressing the opposition – particularly at home – has been the key so far.
“This is one of the reasons that we like to press home because they [the fans] don’t like a team waiting,” Koeman said, speaking to Everton’s monthly magazine.
“Sometimes, of course, you need to play football from the back but sometimes direct play can be more dangerous and if you can change that in the game that’s another quality again.
“But I know the people like it when the team fight, when the team is pressing, when the team is playing football and that was one of the targets for us to make that happen in this team.”
