Jurgen Klopp will banish Mamadou Sakho from his first-team squad after he angered the Liverpool boss by rejecting three loan moves.
The France international has found his way into the German tactician’s bad books over the course of the summer, firstly being sent home from the Reds’ tour of the United States due to his behaviour.
Upon their return to Merseyside, Klopp challenged Sakho to prove his worth to the club by going out on loan and impressing him.
However, despite having offers from Stoke, West Brom and Turkish giants Besiktas, Sakho opted to snub the trio and remain at Anfield in the belief he can force his way back into the first XI.
The 26-year-old’s plan looks to have no chance of succeeding, with a furious Klopp reportedly prepared to freeze him out of the first-team picture for the remainder of the season.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss already has a quartet of centre-backs to choose from in Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip , Ragnar Klavan and Joe Gomez, while it is understood he would now rather use Lucas Leiva at centre-half than Sakho in an emergency.
