Jurgen Klopp says Marko Grujic’s injury is “nothing serious” after the midfielder was forced off against Mainz with an ankle problem.
The Serbian starlet, who has struggled at different times with a virus and concussion during pre-season, was forced off on 39 minutes during the Reds’ 4-0 defeat in Germany.
Danny Ings replaced the midfielder, who had scored Liverpool’s fourth in their 4-0 thrashing of Barcelona at Wembley just under 24 hours earlier.
However, speaking to LFCTV after the game, manager Klopp confirmed that it was “nothing serious.”
The former Red Star Belgrade player is now expected to be available for next Sunday’s Premier League opener against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
