West Brom’s assistant boss Dave Kemp has admitted loan man Alex Pritchard has not had a chance to impress at the Hawthorns.
Albion boss Tony Pulis beat off competition from Championship promotion-chasing duo Middlesbrough and Burnley to take the 22-year-old on loan from Tottenham during the January transfer window.
However Pritchard has barely figured for the side with just three appearances to date, all coming off the substitutes’ bench in the second half of games.
Ironically the three outings have all ended in defeat against Newcastle and Norwich in the Premier League and Reading in the FA Cup.
It will be disappointing for both Pritchard and his Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino who were looking for him to get some valuable experience of playing top-flight football under his belt.
And Kemp told the Birmingham Mail: “You go on and the team is playing well, it’s much easier.
“He’s a good footballer, no question about that.
“It’s awkward when everybody else is playing poorly, it’s not easy.”
