AS Roma are hoping to extend the loan deal of Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny for another season.
The Poland international impressed in Serie A last season and it comes as no surprise to see the Italian outfit make moves to keep him for another 12 months.
However this time Roma want the option to buy the keeper at the end of the loan deal, and are also willing to pay all of his wages, a deal which should appeal to the Gunners.
Arsenal would prefer to offload him on a permanent basis, but such a deal will save them a packet in wages and they can set the fee for a permanent deal in 12 months.
Szczesny has little chance of forcing his way into the Gunners first-team set up as he sits behind Petr Cech and David Ospina in the pecking order, and would jump at the chance of a move.
