Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet insists the Reds could easily have netted more in their emphatic win over Everton on Wednesday.
Rarely has their been such a one-sided Merseyside derby as Roberto Martinez’s men were comfortably put to the sword in a 4-0 win and Belgium keeper Mignolet thought they could have had more.
Such was Liverpool’s dominance, Mignolet believes the scoreline flattered the visitors.
“It’s always nice [to win derbies], especially at home, you want to get a good result,” he told Liverpoolfc.com.
“I think we played really well, the first 20 minutes Everton had some dangerous counter-attacks but after that we scored our goals at the right time – just before half-time – that makes it easier.
“With the red card afterwards we played our football, created a lot of chances, and it could’ve been more.”
