Burnley defender Michael Keane is on Chelsea’s radar as Antonio Conte plans to sign two new central defenders in January.
The Chelsea boss is alarmed by the number of goals Chelsea have conceded so far this season and is ready to make sweeping changes to his defence in January.
Chelsea were hammered 3-0 by Arsenal at the weekend and reports are rife that Conte has decided Gary Cahill and Branislav Ivanovic are not good enough for his team.
Both could be made available in January and Conte will replace them by bringing in two new central defenders and a full-back when the window re-opens.
Clarets defender Keane is high on Conte’s wanted list and will allow him to bolster his quota of homegrown talent, and an offer is said to be in the pipeline.
Burnley have already fought off interest from Leicester City, but it could be much harder to turn down Chelsea’s advances as Keane is sure tp push for a move.
