Harry Kane his warned his Tottenham team-mates to guard against complacency when they take on basement club Aston Villa on Sunday.
Spurs will head into the Villa Park clash sitting second in the Premier League standings and victory will see them close the gap to table-topping Leicester City to just two points.
The Foxes face Newcastle United on Monday night and so the north Londoners will want to put pressure on the Midlanders in the hope that Claudio Ranieri’s men will slip up against a side who now have Rafa Benitez at the helm.
But their first priority will be to take all three points from Remi Garde’s side, who already have one foot in the Championship after a disastrous campaign.
The Villans are rock bottom of the standings with just 16 points to their name and are nine points adrift of safety.
But Kane feels Villa will still be dangerous and wants to ensure that Spurs get the job done this weekend.
“They are a good side and are fighting against relegation and will be up for this game,” he told Spurs TV. “They’ll be looking at this game and will try and get the fans on their side and get the three points.
“We need to make sure we are ready for that and we are on our game and play a good style of football.”
Punters looking to use a free bet might fancy Spurs to beat Villa and continue their push for the Premier League title.
