Tottenham intend to offer Harry Kane a new and improved contract at the end of the season which is likely to double his wages.
As Kane closes in on the Golden Boot and is pushing to fire Tottenham to the title, club officials are looking ahead and know they will need to push the boat out to keep him at White Hart Lane.
Manchester United have been strongly linked with a move for the player and they are not alone, so Spurs are set to more than double his wages with a new contract.
The England striker only signed a five-and-a-half-year deal 12 months ago that put him on £35,000 a week, but the improved contract will more than double the 22-year-old’s basic wages to around £75,000 a week, which could rise to £100,000 with add-ons.
Whether that will be enough when some clubs pay wages approaching double that remains to be seen.
