Sassuolo director general Giovanni Carnevali has revealed that other clubs are rivalling Juventus for Domenico Berardi – amid reported interest from Tottenham.
The 21-year-old striker has bagged 38 goals in the past three seasons and he has been linked with a move away this summer.
Juventus, who sold the Italian to Sassuolo only a year ago, have the option to buy Berardi back and it was assumed they would activate that clause.
But Carnevali has now revealed other clubs, such as Tottenham, are lurking and it is not set in stone what will happen.
“I’m very good friends with [Juventus director] Beppe Marotta,” Carnevali told Corriere dello Sport.
“With Juventus there’s an option that hasn’t expired. But there have been important offers from other clubs for Berardi, and we’ll take them into consideration.
“In a few days we’ll sit and decide: ourselves, Juve and the lad.”
