West Ham’s quest to add more firepower to their squad this summer could see them make a move for Juventus striker Simone Zaza.
The 24-year-old looks set to leave the Serie A champions having struggled to establish himself in Massimiliano Allegri’s squad since he made the switch from Sassuolo 12 months ago, scoring eight times in all competitions having been predominantly used as a substitute.
Despite a lack of action in Turin, Zaza still managed to secure a place in Italy’s provisional 30-man squad for Euro 2016 and looks likely to wait until after this summer’s tournament to make a decision on his club future.
West Ham and Premier League rivals Southampton are both thought to be keen on Zaza, with the Hammers having made improving their attacking options their top priority for the summer.
With deals for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette and Leicester hero Jamie Vardy appearing unlikely to come off, Zaza represents a more viable option for boss Slaven Bilic.
