Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said the most fitting word to describe his side’s performance in the 3-0 win over Man City was ‘boom’.
Adam Lallana, James Milner and Roberto Firmino were all on the score sheet as the Reds got their revenge for the League Cup defeat on Sunday.
“The best word I can say to describe this was ‘boom’,” Klopp said.
“What can I say? It was, from the first until the last second, a really good performance from my side.
“It was lively, it was disciplined in a positive way, it was a never give up game and very intense.
“As you saw at the end of the first half, it was no problem for our players that we had a break! And then in the second half we could go again.
“We have to keep this, we have to stay angry, there’s so many points for us to get and we have to stay angry. We need to make it as difficult as possible.”
Reflecting on Sunday’s Capital One Cup final defeat to Manchester City, Adam Lallana told BT Sport: “It was obviously disappointing at the weekend. The manager said it was important to bounce back here, especially for the fans.
“We’ll be pleased today with that performance but it’s still going to hurt, losing the final at the weekend.
“But a good performance all-round and we need to move on and finish the season strongly.”
