July weekend promises to be sporting feast with Anthony Joshua, Wimbledon, UFC 200 and Euro 2016 colliding

If your a sports fan, put aside any thoughts of going shopping or doing the gardening on the weekend of July 9/10.


Following Anthony Joshua’s heavyweight title fight victory, what was already promising to be an incredible weekend of sport just got better.

The Olympic gold medallist is set to defend his title at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 9 July, if the Briton’s promoters get their way.

It will mean a clash with the mouthwatering heavyweight rematch between Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko in Manchester, with that bout taking place the same night.

That same weekend will also see the Wimbledon singles finals, with the women playing on Saturday and the men on Sunday.

The British Grand Prix will be staged at Silverstone, with qualifying on Saturday and the race itself on Sunday.

On Saturday night is the much-hyped UFC 200 in Las Vegas, where Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor will come together for a rematch of their hugely popular fight won by Diaz at UFC 196.

And to top it all off, it’s the final of Euro 2016 taking place on Sunday night at the Stade de France in Paris.
