Stoke striker Joselu says he is ready to fight for a starting spot after struggling to settle during his first campaign.
The Spaniard joined the Potters last summer for £5.75million from Hannover but was handed just 12 starts and netted four times in the process.
Stoke have been chasing Saido Berahino during the off-season to bolster their attack but a deal with West Brom appears to be dead in the water.
Joselu insists he is not concerned if manager Mark Hughes brings in more competition and has vowed to remain focused on giving the best he can.
“I make my work every week to start the games at the weekend,” he said, as reported by the Uttoxeter Advertiser.
“Stoke sign players, it’s not my problem because all teams sign players.
“I work hard every week and try to play at the weekend and, of course, I want to play more than last year, but the manager makes the decision.”
