JEREMY CROSS COLUMN: United missed out on Klopp, Villa fans get a grip, Buttler was right

The German is becoming a cult figure at Anfield, someone who has developed a genuine warmth between him and his squad.

He’s mad and mental on the touchline. He kicks and heads every ball and his methods are working.

Liverpool have lost just once this season. Klopp’s men have won at Chelsea and Arsenal as well as drawing at Tottenham. They have won their last five games and sit fourth in the table.

Three points behind are United, who have lost three times including a chastising defeat to Manchester City following a masterclass from Pep Guardiola’s men.

Klopp is making a habit of winning the big games. Mourinho, during his second spell at Chelsea and now with United, is making a habit of losing them.
