Adnan Januzaj will tell Jose Mourinho he wants to stay and fight for his Manchester United future at Old Trafford.
Januzaj wants to stay despite the expected £30m arrival of midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund which will put his place in the team in doubt.
Sources for SiaS have been told the Belgian winger is not keen on being sent out on loan again, believing he would learn more simply from being around the new Old Trafford boss.
The 21-year-old was also behind Mkhitaryan in the pecking order at Dortmund, last season, where Januzaj endured a miserable four-month spell on loan.
It’s understood Mourinho is a fan and will speak soon with the player about where he stands in the current equation.
Januzaj knows he also faces a battle in the forward positions, with skipper Wayne Rooney set to continue being utilised between the engine room and attack.
The starlet has attracted enquiries from a handful of clubs around Europe, although United would now want cast-iron assurances of guaranteed first-team football before they try and convince Januzaj that another loan switch would be beneficial for him at this stage in his Red Devils’ career.
