Clement has been with the Bavarian giants for three months and has enjoyed a bright start to his time in Germany. Following their Supercup triumph over Borussia Dortmund, Bayern thrashed Werder Bremen 6-0 in their opening Bundesliga game and are preparing to face Schalke at the weekend.
The former Derby County manager has collected a haul of silverware and languages during his time abroad and believes that immersing yourself into a new culture is vital to earn the respect of colleagues.
“This has been a big thing for me, the cultural experience that I’ve had over the last couple of years,” Clement told talkSPORT.
“I can’t say my French is very good but I progressed a bit further with the Spanish and I’m fully immersed now in the German lessons.
“I have three to four lessons every week, so it’s demanding because you’re working at a high level and having to do the work. Every afternoon, you’re having lessons as well so it is a bit like going back to school. I’m learning colours, numbers and all the basics you need to establish yourself in a language.
“I’m trying and it’s very important you try, because you have to show you’re working towards delivering in a language of the country you’re working in.”
