Juventus are said to be planning a huge bid for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez to make him their marquee summer signing.
The Italian champions are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements after losing Alvaro Morata to Real Madrid and have been linked to a number of forwards, including Everton’s Romelu Lukaku and Paris Saint-Germain hitman Edinson Cavani.
Reports in Italy now suggest they want to test the Gunners’ resolve to keep Sanchez by making a big-money offer for the Chile international, who has experience of playing in Serie A after a five-year stint with Udinese.
Arsenal paid £31.7million to purchase Sanchez from Barcelona in 2014 and are likely to be reluctant to entertain any bids for the 27-year-old given how successful he has been in north London so far.
The South American has scored 29 times in 65 appearances for Arsenal and the club are desperate to tie him to a new contract to end any speculation over his future.
Reports at the end of last season suggested Sanchez could be tempted to join German champions Bayern Munich in the future after growing frustrated with Arsenal’s failure to mount a serious title challenge in the past two seasons.
