Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is understood to have been keeping tabs on the winger for some time and the Anfield side are expected to launch a move for Zielinski when Poland’s Euro 2016 campaign has come to an end.

The 22-year-old is owned by Serie A side Udinese but has spent the last two seasons on loan at Empoli and it is thought a fee in the region of £10million to £15million will be enough to land Zielinski this summer.

Liverpool had been considered the frontrunners in the bid for the 16-cap Poland international but both AC Milan and Napoli have been tipped to rival the Premier League side for his signature.

If Klopp does miss out on Zielinski he has other targets in mind, with recent speculation suggesting the German tactician is also pondering a move for Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko.
